Thrilled to announce the successful completion of all research objectives for the SNSF Narrative Digital Finance project (Grant IZCOZ0_213370). Over the past three years, our team at Bern University of Applied Sciences and University of Twente developed novel computational frameworks bridging narrative economics with financial market analysis. Research Achievements: We produced the TOPol framework for multidimensional semantic polarity analysis, developed HFT classification methodology measuring information propagation at nanosecond resolution with Deutsche Borse AG, and created macro-narrative integration combining macroeconomic indices with topic modeling for structural break detection. Our work includes 8+ publications, conference posters at QuantMinds International and Advances in Mathematical Finance, and 600+ MB of open datasets archived at Zenodo following FAIR principles. Network Impact: As Chair of COST Action CA19130 "Fintech and AI in Finance," we built a network of 420+ researchers across 49 countries - the 2nd largest COST action in history. This infrastructure, combined with our SNSF investment, enabled coordination of the EU Horizon Europe MSCA Industrial Doctoral Network (EUR 4.5M, 13 institutions) - a 19:1 funding leverage demonstrating how targeted Swiss research investment catalyzes European-scale impact. Team Recognition: This achievement reflects the dedication of our exceptional team: Gabin Taibi (who successfully passed his PhD qualification this year), Lennart John Baals, Yiting Liu, and Marius Jan Klein. Special thanks to our industry partners Dr. Stefan Schlamp at Deutsche Borse AG and Dr. Axel Gross-Klussmann at Quoniam Asset Management for making this research operationally relevant. The project extends Robert Shiller's narrative economics with quantitative computational tools - from central bank communication analysis to ultra-high-frequency trading research.
