LinkedIn Post (May 2026):

The GREEN FINANCE project hosted its first guest lecture on May 4, 2026, at the University of Twente. Prof. Dr. Ania Zalewska (University of Leicester) presented on Nature Finance to an audience of more than 30 participants from the GREEN FINANCE consortium and the University of Twente community.

Prof. Zalewska is Professor of Finance and Director of the Centre for Finance, Governance and Sustainable Growth at the University of Leicester. She leads the Green Finance Technical Advisory Group at the Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) Hub, a UKRI-funded research centre. Her research spans biodiversity investment, nature markets, and the effectiveness of green financing mechanisms.

The lecture explored the theoretical foundations of nature finance and the quantitative dimensions of biodiversity investment and nature market instruments. A Q&A and extended discussion connected the presentation to the GREEN FINANCE curriculum, with particular relevance to Module 4 on climate and nature-related financial risk management.
